Working on Getting Healthy and Staying Fit

A weighloss pyramid, made on the food/weighlos...

On January 3rd I wrote a post about losing weight.  It has been a couple of weeks  since that post and I wanted to give an update.  I have been working really hard at eating healthy and exercising.  That’s has been something that I haven’t done in over about 2 years.  I say two years because I was pregnant with my youngest son for 9 months and I used that as an excuse to eat what ever I wanted. Since then I’ve  only talked about getting fit but didn’t do so.  I had the blessing of being home with my baby boy since his birth so of course that was more opportunity for me to eat instead of keeping busy when he was asleep. I developed high blood pressure because of the weight and my eating habits, which kinda depressed me quit often on top of always being sick.

So what was my turning point?

My 4 year old son wanted to go outside to test out his new batman scooter he got for Christmas and although my head was hurting from my blood pressure always being so high I went out any with him.  He wanted me to walk along side him as he road around and then he wanted to play a little softball.  I wasn’t able to keep up with him at all and was quickly out of breathe.  His words were “Mom why are you so slow all the time,  are you old?”  At that moment I felt  like I had let him down but at the same time that was my breaking point to get healthy an stay fit.  I’m only 28 years old and I do plan to be here for both my boys for as long as I can.

As I stated on 1/3 this is not my resolution but this is my life goal. So the first thing I did was get the paper work my doctor gave me months ago to follow,  and help me learn how to eat healthy I finally got it out of my desk and read it.  My main problem I would say is learning how to eat the proper portions.  Also when dieting in the past I always used the word diet and I never ate.  I was so wrong for doing that because  I was making myself more unhealthy.

I’ve joined this nice website called  DietBug which is a weight loss program just for women. The main reason I joined is because you can get a little overwhelmed with trying to get fit and sometimes you can start to feel alone. With this site they motivate, educate, and support you. You have the ability to search for your everyday foods to find out the fat, calories, and protein that’s in it. They will even set you up with a daily meal plan with those foods which I find very awesome. Also they give you a list of exercises to do each day that is sure to get your heart pumping and the fat burning.

I can’t afford a gym membership

When I first started exercising I had no idea where to start and then I saw something that said “A gym body without the gym? Big time! Click Here to see how.” I immediately knew that was what I needed to do. I don’t have any money to spend on a whole lot of equipment and I can’t afford a gym membership. So when I found this site that promoted home fitness I was happy. My first thought was “Wow,” not because it’s all souped up or fancy, but because they had very inexpensive equipment. Along with that equipment you can choose to get a DVD and manual to help you along. They have videos on the site to show you how to use each item as well as a separate section for men and women. That is what sold me because a lot of times, through my research, I find that some companies sell everything together. I’m not a man nor do I want to look like one and I feel I shouldn’t work out like one.

So now I bet everyone is wondering if I have lost any weight yet. Ha Ha stay tuned more is yet to come.
