Losing that Holiday Weight

Well Happy New Year everyone it’s now 2009, and I have to get off this holiday weight I’ve gained over the past two months.  Okay let me keep it real I need to lose all the baby weight I gained when I had my son.  He is now 1 year old but for some reason it’s been harder for me to loose the weight this time around.  What’s so strange is that I didn’t gain any weight the entire time I was pregnant but when I had him I gained almost 30 lbs.  Yeah I know that is a lot and I really thought It would be easy to drop the weight but it has been a year now and with the holidays passing I’ve gained more weight.  Sometimes I get really depressed about it and I start fasting to dry to drop the weight, which is very unhealthy so I start eating again and trying to diet.

Over the past few months that’s all I’ve thought about is getting healthy for me and my children.  It just seemed to make more sense for me to start at the begining of the year verses around the holiday season.  I consider this a goal and not a New Year resloution, and I figured this would be the perfect time to get everybody in my house hold to start eating healthy.  I’m so excited because I know this something that I need to do so that I can be here for my family in the years to come.

Today I started my adventure to a whole new healthier look.  I got up before my boys woke up and took a nice brisk walk.  Before I knew it 2 hours had past and I wasn’t tired I was feeling great.  So why stop I said so kept my beat and kept on walking.  Then  I got a little bold and started a light jogg and I thoght  that was the end of my life.  Maybe I’m not quiet ready for the jogg yet I said to myself.  Not all in the same day.  I need to work up to the jogging part , but don’t worry  I will.  Eventhough I had a hard time with the light jogging today I still felt really good afterwards and that was 6 hours ago.  I have huge burst of energy and I haven’t sat down all day.  Even writing this post I keep leaving my computer becasue I don’t want to sit down.  My boys are looking at me probably wondering what happened to their mom and to me that’s a great feeling.  They are my inspiration and motivation for gettting healthier this New Year.  I will keep everyone upated on my journey to a healhier life.  Until next time.  Happy New Year Everybody!!

You go girl! That sounds awesome. I gotta get back on my workouts as well. I love what you said about it not being a New Year’s resolution, but an actual “goal”.

Sounds like you’re off to a great start! But be careful not to do too much at once.
I’ld advise you to print out a schedule for beginning walkers and follow it. This way you’ll make sure you won’t demand too much of your body, and stop walking because your muscles are yelling and screaming at you to stop!

After the birth of my fourth child I took up running. That is to say: I had to start by taking twenty minute walks, three times a week. Then slowly but surely I was allowed to run for a minute at a time, and after three months I could run for half an hour.

And that’s eight years ago! Thanks to the schedule I managed to stick to my new routine.
