Thoughts By Trail

Christmas is now over although I love the holiday season I’m also glad when it’s all over.  The holidays can be so over whelming with family, friends, parties birthdays, and work.  My birthday is three days after Christmas and I’ve never received and birthday gift until today.  When I woke up this morning my 4 year old son greeted me with a rose and a beautiful hand written birthday card.  It wanted to show me that he has been working on spelling his name.  I was so surprised  becauseI don’t know how or when he had the time to do all that without me knowing.  Since his school has been out for the winter break we have been together everyday.  My precious 1 year old baby boy gave me the biggest kiss and huge this morning and he offered to share his waffles with me.  Now that may not seem like much to the average person but it was very sweet and special to me especially because my baby loves his food and doesn’t like to share it that much.

It seems like the older I get the more the simple gifts are most precious to me.  I feel like the happiest mom on the plantet because my boys remebered my birthday without me reminding them.  I know it seems silly but it’s very thoughtful to me.  I just wanted to share my great birthday expericence with you and I would love to hear about any special moment or expericence that has happened to you.
