Keeping a blog up to date with exciting and interesting articles is one of the most important aspects of blogging. This is so important because regular blog visitors expect new postings on a regular basis. Not all visitors expect to see a new post as often as once a day but readers  do expect the content on the blog to be updated on a regular basis. In most cases visitors expect new content on your blog  at least once a week or you risk losing their interest. However, depending on the topic visitors may expect updates on a basis which is more frequent then usual. Keep in mind casual visitors may not be interested in receiving this type of information more than a few times a year.  As blog owners you should be aware of the frequency of which readers expect new posts and should make an effort to oblige all readers with updates as often as possible. This article will discuss methods for keeping a blog up to date including scheduling a regular time to post blogs, using publishing tools wisely and hiring guest bloggers when necessary.

1. Set up a weekly schedule maybe the evenings after work or the weekends when your mind can be completely free of all the current weeks events.

2. Research about writing attentive post for your readers. You don’t want to write something that people don’t want to read

3. Take advantage of publishing tools. Some blog publishing tools allow you to write your post offline and then specify when you want each post to be published. This will come in handy for our busy working blog owners.  You can take a look at Windows Live Writer as a great publishing tool.

4. Do an on/off line pole with your readers about what brings them to your blog. Capture the importance of that information and expand what they say.

5. Invite guest bloggers to post on your blog. This can be a worthwhile method for
bloggers who are not only having difficulty keeping their blog up to
date but are also interested in providing readers with a little
variety.

Stay tuned more tips to come in the future.

I agree that research is a very important part of writing a great article. I do so much research at times, that I forget where I started.

Great tips, Trail! One of the things that has helped me is to write posts ahead of time. You can actually do this right in your dashboard on Wordpress and probably Blogger and other platforms as well.

Before you publish your post, just set the date and time you want it to go live. This keeps your blog up-to-date and on schedule no matter when you choose to actually compose your posts.
